La Vie de Boheme

Pitlochry Festival Theatre
This is the first play I wrote for Pitlochry. When he commissioned me to do it, Clive Perry really saved my life, as he seemed to be the only Scottish theatre that was taking any interest in my work at all.
He also gave me the step up to working on large stages, which I desperately needed.
For this play I took the stories of Henry Murger, on which the opera is based, and forged them into a rather different story that (I hope) made a positive statement about the importance of art – and in an entertaining way.
