Spam Fritters
Written: 2009
A radio play, commissioned and broadcast by BBC Radio Scotland.
It tells the story of a grandma who once taught her grandson to bake scones.
And he discovered a way to make a living out of it.
So he gave his grandma a computer which connects to the internet.
The play is the story of the people she encounters.
Of course she gets sent spam. A letter apparently from a lonely girl in Russia who is looking for love; but is actually written by a man in Nigeria, in the midst of civil war, desperate to escape his suffering.
Again I wanted to write a human story which was tender and funny and a little bit sad.
